You can technically use a slab of concrete as a dryer, but it has to be a hot day. Leaving meat, vegetables, fruits, or other dehydratable items on a slab concrete surface on a hot day will allow you to dehydrate them and preserve them so that you can eat them later.
One thing to consider when trying to “dry” or dehydrate anything is that the time to remove the moisture from the food is critical. You want to cut everything down to a small size so that the water is removed before bacteria and other things have a chance to infect what you plan to eat. Here is a way to create a simple food dehydrator.

Ideally, using this approach will maximize the sun’s drying ability and prevent bacteria from growing. As always, make sure that whatever you dried looks and smells proper before you attempt to eat it.
